Literary Fellow

Geva Theatre Center (Rochester, NY) seeks a LITERARY FELLOW for 8 weeks from February 27 – April 23, 2012. The Fellowship is scheduled around Geva’s Plays in Progress series, around which many of the Fellow’s duties center. Duties may include the following (dependent on Fellow’s abilities and experience): serving as dramaturg on a new play in the series; assisting with evaluating queries and scripts; assisting with dramaturgical research; assisting with the producing of the series; office support and other duties as assigned.

Reports to Jenni Werner, director of literary and artistic programs. Salary: $300/week plus small housing stipend. Ideal for a young dramaturg looking for experience in a LORT theatre. Geva Theatre Center, Rochester’s leading professional theatre, has been at the cultural heart of the Genesee Valley for 39 years. Geva operates two theatres (a LORT B mainstage and a LORT D second stage), has an annual budget of $6.9 M, and offers a seven-show mainstage season, numerous new play development programs, and a wide range of education and community engagement activities, as well as booked-in shows from local performing arts groups.

Development Intern - Summer 2012

Geva Theate Center's Development Department is looking for a very organized self-starter with enthusiasm for theatre to help create and implement organizational systems in our new office space and to assist in the day-to-day operations. Duties include: organization of files, creating donor “snapshots” and tagging VIPs in our donor database, assisting with annual appeals and mailings, event planning and preparation, pulling reports and creating lists, assisting in assembling grant proposals, general clerical work, and other duties, as assigned. Over-hire Production Needed:

Geva Theatre Center seeks resumes from candidates for various production over-hire positions. Positions include but are not limited to: show call deck crew, show call follow spot operators, show call board operators (sound, lighting), show call wardrobe, scenery and electrics load-in/strike. Positions available can be part-time or full-time depending on show needs. Some theatre experience is preferred or necessary depending on position. Training will be provided as needed.
