We’re back in 1958, and it’s time for the Wonderettes to graduate in this delightful sequel to last season’s hit! Join Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy as they sing about their final year in high school, celebrate and prepare for their next step toward a bright future. Act Two zooms ahead to 1968, where the girls celebrate Missy’s marriage to Mr. Lee! Featuring “Rock Around the Clock,” “At the Hop,” “Dancing in the Street,” “River Deep, Mountain High” and 25 more hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns will have you cheering for more!

AUDRA CRAMER Attention: Eyes! Audra is totally jazzed to be returning to Geva and the Wonderettes this Christmas season. A graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Nazareth College of Rochester, Audra is currently living in Glasgow, Scotland studying for her Masters Degree in Musical Theatre Musical Direction at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Thanks to Melissa, Don, Mark, Rachael, the Wonderettes, (and Bill!) for continuing to bring Missy to life. Also, giant hugs and thank yous to Paudra, Tom, Mom, Dad, and Family for being supportive of every musical endeavor, whether here or across the pond.

EMELIE FAITH THOMPSON is thrilled to make her Geva debut in her fourth turn as Cindy Lou in the Wonderettes series!  A Virginia native, she holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory and is a recipient of the Roger Sturtevant EMC Musical Theatre Award.  Off-Broadway credits include Night Games and A.A. Milne’s The Ugly Duckling.  Regional credits include My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle), Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), Violet (Violet), Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Steel Magnolias (Shelby) and The 39 Steps. ROGER BEAN | Writer and Creator

ROGER BEAN created the long-running Off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes (Westside Theatre), along with the sequels Wonderettes: Caps & Gowns, Winter Wonderettes, and Wonderettes: Dream On. Original cast albums for all Wonderettes shows are available from iTunes and Amazon. The Marvelous Wonderettes received the 2007 LA Ovation Award for Best Musical for its record-breaking Los Angeles run, and continues to be an audience favorite in regional and amateur theatre companies throughout the country. Mr. Bean revisits Springfield, USA with his newest jukebox hit, Life Could be a Dream. With a record-breaking 12-month run in Los Angeles, the show received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, the LA Weekly Theatre Award and the Backstage Garland Award for Outstanding Musical. Mr. Bean wrote and created the popular jukebox musicals Summer of Love, The Andrews Brothers, Route 66, Honky Tonk Laundry and Why Do Fools Fall in Love? and all currently available through licensing agent Steele Spring Stage Rights. Additional musicals created by Mr. Bean include Don’t Touch that Dial!, That’s Amore and Beach Blanket Bash. MELISSA RAIN ANDERSON returns to Geva Theatre Center, where she is an Artistic Affiliate. At Geva, Melissa has appeared in numerous productions and directed this season’s record breaking production of In the Heights, last season’s productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (featuring 2 Ring Circus) and The Marvelous Wonderettes, also 2015’s hit production of Monty Python’s Spamalot! and the 2014 production of The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee. Regional credits include A Christmas Carol at the Denver Center Theater Company ‘16 ’17The Cocoanuts at Utah Shakespeare Festival; Spamalot! and The Little Mermaid at Arkansas Repertory Theatre; the Houston premiere of Next to Normal (Houston Press Award Best Musical) as well as the entire Wonderettes Series including the World Premiere of The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On at Stages Repertory Theatre; Always….Patsy Cline at PCPA Theatrefest, The Comedy of Errors, The Fantasticks and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at the Great River Shakespeare Festival.  Upcoming projects include The Marvelous Wonderettes at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis; Seussical (featuring 2 Ring Circus) at Cape Fear Regional Theatre and Big River at Utah Shakespeare Festival. RACHAEL LOGUE | Assistant Director

RACHAEL LOGUE made her Geva Theatre Center debut last year as Cindy Lou in The Marvelous Wonderettes and is thrilled to be back again this year. At Stages Repertory Theatre she has played Cindy Lou in all three of the Wonderettes stories including the World Premiere (and Original Cast Album) of the fourth installment, The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On, all directed by Melissa Rain Anderson. Other favorite acting credits include Dollhouse, Steel Magnolias, and Grey Gardens as well as White Christmas for TUTS, The Marvelous Wonderettes at Oregon Cabaret Theatre; Twelfth Night in London’s Hyde Park, Stick Fly for the Ensemble Theatre and Thoroughly Modern Millie for Texas Repertory Theatre. DON KOT | Musical Director

SAM HODERLEIN | Scenic Designer

SAM HODERLEIN  is excited to be starting her third season as the Scenic Charge Artist at Geva Theatre Center.  The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns is the second show she has designed for Geva, having made her debut last season with The Marvelous Wonderettes. She graduated from Allegheny College in May 2015 where she received a B.A. in Theatre.  She spends her summers painting for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and does freelance work as a Scenic Artist for The University of Rochester.

JANICE FERGER | Costume Designer

JANICE FERGER is a costume designer and technician for theatre and film. Some of her recent design work includes Twelfth Night, Death of a Salesman, The Underpants, Heathers: The Musical (Blackfriars Theatre, Rochester), As You Like It, The Winter’s Tale (Cradle Theatre Company), Intimate Apparel, The Miser (Connecticut Repertory Theatre), My Last Duchess, The Clever Mistress (Cutting Edge Concerts). Her next project will be When We Were Young and Unafraid (Blackfriars Theatre). Ms. Ferger has the privilege of being the resident costume designer at Blackfriars Theatre. She received her M.F.A. in Costume Design, University of Connecticut.

ROB DENTON | Lighting Designer

ROB DENTON made his Geva Theatre Center debut last season with The Marvelous Wonderettes. Recent regional design credits include: Thoroughly Modern Millie (Goodspeed Musicals); The Wolves, Sunset Baby and The Call (Theaterworks); The Unsinkable Molly Brown, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof and Into the Woods (The Muny); A Christmas Carol, The Winslow Boy and All The Way (Repertory Theatre of St. Louis); The Barber of Seville (Opera San Antonio), Die Fledermaus (New Orleans Opera). IAN HILDRETH | Sound Design

IAN HILDRETH has been with Geva Theatre since 2007. Past designs include Million Dollar Quartet, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Spamalot!, the world premiere of The Road to Where, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Pump Boys and Dinettes, MoM: A Rock Concert Musical, Next to Normal, Avenue Q, Fences, 3 Mo’ Divas and Carry It On. Associate designs include The Whipping Man, Dracula, Two Jews Walk Into a War and Radio Golf.


STEPHIE KESSELRING is delighted to return to Geva Theatre Center for her eighth season. Some favorite productions at Geva include In The Heights, Spamalot!, Little Shop of Horrors, The 39 Steps, Good People, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Perfect Wedding, Over the Tavern and Next to Normal. She has also stage managed The Lake Effect, Marvelous Wonderettes, Bob, A Body of Water, An Iliad, and Dancing Lessons in the Fielding Stage; Action and Reaction, a staged reading of Macbeth at American Globe Theatre; and the Off-Broadway production of Captain Marbles and His Acting Squad.
