Programs for All Geva Audiences

Prologue

A lively and informative half-hour talk is given before every performance of each Mainstage production. A member of the cast or Geva’s artistic staff shares background on the play’s origins and context, as well as the creative process that shaped the performance. Prologue is free of charge, and begins one hour before curtain. (An abbreviated Prologue is given 30 minutes prior to curtain on Opening Night performances.)

Sunday Salon

Want to talk about the play you just saw? Curious about how the artists approach their work? Sunday Salon is an informal opportunity for audience members to ask and answer questions with cast members in the production. Salon is held immediately after the fourth Sunday matinee performance of every Mainstage, as well as Underneath the Lintel in the Nextstage. This event is free of charge and open to the public. (This program is not offered for A Christmas Story.)

The Hornets’ Nest: Think Theatre.

Geva’s newest Nextstage series presents readings of contemporary plays investigating some of the most challenging and controversial ethical dilemmas of our time. Galvanizing post-play discussions are led by key “Instigators” from the Rochester community. What’s the buzz? Learn more here.

Magic in the Making

Ever wonder, “How does Geva do it?” Take a self-guided, behind-the-scenes tour during Geva’s annual open house, and meet the artists from each department of the theatre to understand the many roles that combine to create Geva productions.

In 2009 this event included the opportunity to visit the set of A Christmas Story. The 2010 date has not yet been scheduled.

We also offer building tours for groups throughout the year; learn more here.
