Old Jake's Skirts
By José Cruz Gonzáles
Adapted from the book by C. Anne Scott
In cooperation with Arizona’s Childsplay Theatre
Jake is a lonely old farmer who is down on his luck, until he finds an old trunk full of calico skirts beside the road. With every skirt – and the colorful ways he uses them to fill his life – color begins slowly to creep back into his world. When he meets the little girl who shares the secret to these skirts, he finds hope and laughter. This tale of gentle humor is both homespun and heartwarming: presented with toe-tappin’, clap-along live bluegrass music.

Noodle Doodle Box
By Paul Maar
Adapted & Translated by Anita & Alex Page
Directed by Sean Daniels
Noodle Doodle Box retells the events in a day in the life of the two delightful clownish wags, Pepper and Zacharias. Each clown possesses a box that serves as both their private playground. With just a dash of their imaginations, these clowns can make their boxes sprout wings and fly, or grow right before our eyes. Pepper and Zacharias’ friendship is threatened when they refuse to share their boxes with each other, and it is only after they meet a greedy, prank-pulling Drum Major that Pepper and Zacharias learn to appreciate each other and discover the true value of friendship.
Suggested for ages: 5-12
