The Story: In a Chicago junk shop, three small time crooks plot to rob a man of his coin collection. The shop’s owner, Don, thinks he got conned when he sold a (maybe) rare buffalo-head nickel for $90. He enlists Bobby, his young gofer, to steal it back. Dons friend Teach gets wind of the scheme and wants in on the heist. They meet late at night to finesse their plans, as Teach and Bobby vie for Don’s attention and respect. The Experience: An intense ride, savage and funny. Gripping entertainment. Mamet’s plays are known for their rich characters, their unflinching portrayal of the ethics of business and friendship, and their brilliant, edgy dialogue. The Buzz: Best American Play, New York Drama Critics Circle Award 1976-77. The Fine Print: Strong profanity, physical violence and adult subject matter.
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Run Time: 2 Hrs
