To celebrate theatre in our community during our anniversary year,
Geva will
open its doors to a variety of theatre groups from September
2007 through
June 2008. We will showcase the fine theatrical work that is
being done all
across the region.

Announce Rochester TheatreFest for 2007 – 2008
In Celebration of their 35th Anniversaries.
April 24, 2007 Rochester, N.Y.- Geva Theatre Center,
along with The Community Foundation is proud to
announce a season-long festival for Geva’s Nextstage during their joint
35th AnniversaryYear.

Leonard, President and Executive Director
of The Community Foundation, have today declared the upcoming theatre
season to be a time for celebration,
unification, and collaboration throughout the entire theatre community.
Rochester TheatreFest will allow
theatre groups from around the Greater Rochester area a unique opportunity
to perform their own shows on the
Nextstage. The Community Foundation is providing underwriting for
Rochester TheatreFest, which makes it
financially feasible for area theatres to participate.
In February 2007, Geva Theatre Center requested proposals from theatres
interested in the Rochester
TheatreFest. Twenty-three theatres responded with detailed proposals
for productions, and 14 have now been
chosen. Starting September 13, 2007 and ending June 29, 2008 these
14 groups will each perform on the
Nextstage from one to three weeks each.

including thousands of area students;
- develop new plays and playwrights;
- nurture the audiences and artists of the next generation.
From the Mainstage to the Nextstage to the classroom and beyond,
Geva Theatre Center is an active member of the
