The Story: In Urinetown (“the musical not the place”), water is worth its weight in gold. Following a 20 year drought, the government banned private toilets, and one single corporation, Urine Good Company, has made a fortune by profiting from humanity’s basic needs. Enter Bobby Strong, the hero of our story, who starts a revolution founded on the simple belief that people should pee free! Of course, if he gets caught by Officers Lockstock and Barrel, it’s off to Urinetown (“the place not the musical”) for young Bobby Strong. The Experience:You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you won’t believe the title. . . . OK, well maybe you won’t cry. A musical comedy of the highest order: hilarious, smart and irreverent, with great tunes you’ll be humming long after the show has ended. If you enjoy a wicked wit, this is the musical for you. The Buzz:The most talked about Broadway musical of 2002!
“What kind of musical is this? An original one…And did I mention that Urinetown is hilarious?” New York Times The Fine Print: Absolutely no profanity, but lots of creative slang.
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Fun for the whole family Run Time: 2 Hrs 30 Mins
