Local non-union casting is done by the artistic staff in Rochester. Each year, General Auditions are held before the beginning of the new season at which time area adult actors present monologues and/or songs appropriate to the upcoming season. Geva Theatre Center, a LORT B&D regional leader in Western New York, seeks applicants for Company Manager. Under the supervision of the Director of Production, job duties will include: Provide leadership and management to the Assistant Company Manager. Manage, equip, and maintain our guest housing and provide hospitality and support for all our guest artists. Book travel and overflow housing as required for all guest artists. Manage & facilitate all shipping & receiving for guest artists. Manage company vehicle assignments and maintenance. Prepare guest performer contracts. Serve as Primary shopper/buyer, shipper/receiver for the department and provide other administrative duties as required, such as preparing documents to onboard acting company members and reporting documents to Actors Equity. Candidate must be an excellent communicator and able to both collaborate and work independently. A positive attitude, good work ethic and attention to detail are essential to this position. All applicants need to be able to lift 40lbs, be physically active and be familiar with the work processes of a professional theatre that produces and presents up to 20 projects per season. Familiarity with the LORT/Equity contract is essential.

Manager of Grants and Corporate Relations
Geva Theatre Center, an award-winning non-profit theatre company in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Manager of Grants and Corporate Relations to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Development, this person will manage the fundraising efforts, strategies, and solicitation of foundations and corporations. This person will actively prospect and solicit businesses for corporate support, cultivate a portfolio of businesses and foundations, and manage all foundation and government support to ensure that grants and reports are submitted on time, and their progress is tracked. A Bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, the ability to collaborate with the entire development team, and the willingness to assist with events as needed. Geva Theatre Center (Rochester, NY) seeks a LITERARY FELLOW from Feb. 20-April 25, 2017. The Fellowship is scheduled around Geva’s new play development programs for established and young writers. Duties may include assisting with: facilitating evaluation and tracking process for Young Writers Showcase and Regional Writers Showcase; reading stage directions in play readings; evaluating scripts for consideration; dramaturgical research and/or writing; assisting with Plays in Progress reading series; authoring blog posts; office support and other duties. Reports to literary director/resident dramaturg. Compensation is approx. $400/week. Small housing stipend available. Ideal for an emerging dramaturg looking for experience in a LORT theatre. Geva Theatre Center, an award-winning, non-profit theatre company in Rochester, NY, seeks a Leadership Fellow for a year long, full-time appointment. This position is supported by a workforce development grant through Round VI of the New York State Regional Economic Development Council initiative. This grant was awarded to Geva Theatre Center to support the development of leaders within underrepresented communities.
This individual will participate in a professional leadership program, working alongside the Executive Director and other senior staff to gain valuable experience in administration, finance, development, marketing and other crucial components of managing a successful non-profit arts institution. The program is designed to help candidates become skilled leaders while gaining insight and experience at a dynamic regional theater. The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Work closely with members of senior staff to assist with day-to-day as well as long term projects and activities in development, finance, administration, and marketing
- Meet weekly with the Executive Director to gain and provide insight on all organizational decisions and projects
- Attend weekly staff meetings, as well as monthly Board of Trustees meetings and Trustee committee meetings.
- Attend the annual Theatre Communications Group conference
- Assist with special projects within the organization
- Assist in planning Geva’s annual fundraising gala, Summer Curtain Call
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the arts and a strong commitment to leadership, looking to build a career in Arts Administration. Candidates with a foundation in fundraising, finance and/or marketing are encouraged to apply. The individual should have a strong attention to detail, be intuitive, be able to multitask and possess strong organizational skills. Geva Theatre Center, a LORT B leading regional theatre in the western New York tri-state region seeks experienced stitchers for part-time over-hire work in the upcoming 2016-2017 season. Theatrical training or experience preferred but NOT necessary. Advanced sewing skills and the ability to work at a high technical standard and at a professional pace is necessary. Should be experienced with sewing machines and over-locks, and working with a wide variety of fabrics. Will require a basic understanding of garment construction and experience with garment alterations.
