Casting

Geva is a member of the national League of Resident Theatres and works under an agreement with Actors Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers. By agreement, most but not all adult actors are required to be members of the union and Geva uses casting director Paul Fouquet of Elissa Myers Casting in New York City for all Equity casting. Please address all resumes/headshots to his attention at:

Local non-union casting is done by the artistic staff in Rochester. Each year, General Auditions are held before the beginning of the new season at which time area adult actors present monologues and/or songs appropriate to the upcoming season. Any actor can audition every two years at Generals. Check this site for audition dates and requirements.

Production Assistant

Production Assistant in Stage Management:  Geva Theatre Center, a LORT B&D regional leader in Western New York, seeks applicants for Production Assistant in Stage Management for the 2017/18 season.  Candidates must possess good computer skills, and college degree with experience/training in Stage Management procedures/practices.   Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, collaborative, positive and professional. Costume Shop Manager 

Geva Theatre Center, the regional theatre leader in Western New York with LORT B & D stages, seeks applicants for Costume Shop Manager. Under the supervision of the Director of Production, job duties will include:  Provide leadership and management to the Costume Shop staff, Serve as primary contact with guest designers, Manage all Costume shop facilities, equipment and resources, including labor, Collaborate with Wig and Wardrobe Supervisor on the care of all costume items, Serve as primary shopper/buyer, shipper/receiver for the department and provide other administrative duties as required, such as completing credit card purchase logs, maintaining accurate running budget totals, completing annual performance reviews with staff.  Candidate must have advanced knowledge of professional theatrical costume construction techniques and period style for clothing and hair. Candidate will be responsible to coordinate both incoming and outgoing rentals with other theatres and commercial vendors.  Candidate must be an excellent communicator and able to both collaborate and work independently. A positive attitude, good work ethic and attention to detail are essential to this position.  All applicants need to be able to lift 30lbs, be physically active and be familiar with the work processes of a professional theatre that produces and presents up to 20 projects per season.

Lead Carpenter

Geva Theatre Center, the LORT B&D regional leader in Western New York, seeks applicants for Lead Carpenter. This position reports to the technical director.  Responsibilities include construction, installation, and strike of scenery, maintaining shop tools and inventory, leading both full time shop staff and over hire.  Candidate must have professional theatre experience, skills in wood and metal construction, and theatrical rigging.   Experience with automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics is preferred. This position is seasonal full time, starts 7/31/17, and has benefits and salary commensurate with experience. Overhire Stitchers

Geva Theatre Center, a LORT B leading regional theatre in the western New York tri-state region seeks experienced stitchers for part-time over-hire work in the upcoming 2016-2017 season. Theatrical training or experience preferred but NOT necessary.  Advanced sewing skills and the ability to work at a high technical standard and at a professional pace is necessary. Should be experienced with sewing machines and over-locks, and working with a wide variety of fabrics. Will require a basic understanding of garment construction and experience with garment alterations.
